Happy Halloween!

Also known as the day you go from your normal self to another exhausting day of being a madman.

This year I choose to be the Doctor but with some very special finishing touch: a girly zombie, based on Florence Welch. To get the Doctor Outfit, all I needed were those wine-colored suspenders and a tweed jacket. Found the tweed jacket at a local second-hand store for a penny and lend the suspenders from a guyfriend. Bow tie is mine, blouse is mine and the tweed jacket is now mine as well! (plus, tweed is fashionable at the moment so I'm glad I found one. It's a bit big, but that's not a problem at all because now I can wear jumpers beneath it)

You know what I love about Halloween? You get to dress up and act like a fool and no one would actually judge you because you look weird but everyone else does as well. But at the same time, where I live, no one celebrates Halloween. Such a shame, because Halloween is amazing and you get to trick or treat and eat candy all day long and get scared because you're watching the remakes of Halloween again, as some sort of marathon you're doing with friends. I'd love to celebrate Halloween in America one time, when I get there at some point. Anyway, I had an Halloween party yesterday and it was marvelous. I know, Halloween is on monday but I'll be at school until 4 and after that I have to study for important exams, so I can't terrorize the city with my looks.

Sassy Freddie Krueger - Death - Doctor Skeleton
All with all, I had a blast. Some didn't: just by the way how they were playing and busy with their phones, sitting and looking around the room and not moving. Next to that, they had plates with cake, cupcakes and chicken. Writing this, I've been blasting the full soundtrack of The Lion King. Maybe I'll dress up as simba next year, or Rafiki... Long live my youth.

Jealous, don't you know!

I don't know how it's even possible, but it's almost 12 AM and I am sitting here, writing my next blog about how my day went. Trust me, I am tired and I want to sleep but I need to share it. I've been awake since 8 AM already, I deserve an award for that to be honest. I had to work yesterday, and was home around 1, fell asleep around 1:30 AM. 6,5 hours of sleep and spend then next 12 hours with two kids my mum is babysitting, aged 8 & 10. And trust me, they're not very pleasant when you go to an amusements park with them! The youngest of the two is an 8 year old girl and you do not want to piss her off. The common problem we always have with her is about candy. She can't have anything to eat what is concentrated. Most of the candy actually is (OH WHAT A SURPRISE) I was kind of getting irritated by her because she wanted everything, like money didn't mean a thing to her. Plus, if we weren't listening to her, she found it necessary to punch you all the time. And the 10 year old boy is just bloody clever. But, somewhat he's irritating as well because he thinks he's funny, when he's actually always throwing insults at you without noticing. I love kids.

It was amazing though, I haven't been there since I was 6, so it has been 11 years before I was there again. So many things have changed and it's wonderful. We went to a 4D-movie (mostly about how people are destroying and yet cleaning the environment. It was meant to be a fun-4D-movie-for-kids-aged-from-2-till-12. Hey, good try though!) Went into this other thing, called Ocean of Darkness. It used to be so much more 'muchier' but that's just... Gone? It was a room where you go into a cart and you are stuck into an big underwater mask and all you can see is paint on the wall and a naked mermaid. The cart was cool though, it looked like a gas mask like the ones they used in Doctor Who. We also went to swimming for half an hour, found out you can only swim there if you're a guest staying in their bungalows. I say 'High Five!' to my mom because she sneaked us in!

Now the fun part is beginning, even though it was around 5 PM. We went towards the main street where they have these little boutiques and I bought the coolest, I swear, the coolest things ever. And I probably spend too much on the most ridiculous hat ever: I DON'T CARE I LOVE IT OMG.

My Grace Kelly cut out paper doll, which you can dress up with other clothes, printed out on paper. You just have to pin it up and you can create different kinds of outfits. I just fell in love with it. I also bought a Marilyn Monroe cookie jar. Haaaaa.
Two wolf necklaces I bought at the Cowboy store they had. I'm not even going to explain why, because everyone should just know why I bought this. Yes, two of them. One is for Ludo :3

This, next to me, is the best purchase I have done in months. This ladies and gentlemen, is my new hat Hutchie. I called it Hutchie because it's a husky. Well, supposed to be one... I was just joking around calling it Hutchie, but the two kids did take me serious, and when they said goodbye they kissed my hat and said ''Goodnight Hutchie, sleep tight!'' My heart broke in millions of tiny pieces. Also, walking around like this is the best thing I have done in weeks. The worker at the Mac Donalds commented me on how cool it was and kids kept staring at me. I felt awesome. Came home around 9, live chatted with Ludo, which was quite embarrassing, thanks to my lovely family. Hint: My brother could be a werewolf from Twilight. Let's be honest: live chatting/webcamming with me is even better than a real life soap. Just one of the risks you have to take when you decide to be friends with me. Instead of one, you most of the time also get my parents, my little brother and my little sister...

OTHER EXCITING NEWS, THESE TWO BABIES:

Monika's letter. Ah yessss, when I came back from this exciting day, this beautiful envelope was lying on my desk. Can I just quote something? ''''I guess I have to wait until they fire **** and hire you instead. You'd be a great manager for them. You'd let them make out on stage during their next grand tour.'' This made me smile, really. Not because it's hilarious but because I couldn't have gotten a better compliment than that. I want to be a freaking badass band manager when I grow up, and just do the best I can. Obviously. And yes, if they want to snog so badly, they can. I wouldn't mind.

My Crossing Border festival ticket in The Hague. Excuse me while I die, but I'm going to see Pattie Wolf (haaaaaa, wolf haaaaaaaa) and hopefully meet him. I just have to mention it because I am excited and I have something to look forward to after my first history exam. Very important exam is very important, you see? Amsterdam in 2 weeks, festival in 4 weeks... I don't mannn, my life is exciting. (except for the homework that I've might been procrastinating, mmm...)

But hey, always keep believing in yourself, always look at the bright side of  life and never lose faith. If you're just a puddle of nothing and if you don't believe in yourself, no one will. Not that this has anything to do with the long rant I just did... Appreciate yourself. Do it for me. Let me see those jazzzhands! And dear traveler, I think I love you.

Counting Sunday

My dad had this marvelous idea to go and walk in the woods, 20 minutes drive from here and so we went. I was actually exciting and brought the EOS 300 on film with me, my mum told me I could. Snapped some beautiful/magnificent pictures. Passed some trees, famous because they used to burn Witches at those trees. Scared some kids with it. Shame the developing of the film will take longer than expected, so I'll probably make an huge post since I have to develop almost 6 films! BUT, my sunday has been made by the lovely Ludo. See here why...

Better than secretly-eating-the-dough-when-you're-still-making-cupcakes

So, I just got home and as you guys know I've been to Aachen with my dad to see Hurts at the Tivoli Eissporthalle for the 1LIVE Eine nacht in Aachen! And trust me, not a single bit went according to plan and I still had the time of my life. My dad and I had the plan to leave around 3 PM because the trip to Aachen would take 2,5/3 hours. But we didn't leave around 3PM, we left 45 minutes later. Next to that, just before Aachen we got stuck into the traffic jam and I kind of freaked out because Dianna (she's so lovely! :3) was waiting for me so I could go inside with her and I'd be at the front of the stage. Once again, I was too late. So we hurried to the hotel, check in, dropped off our stuff, refreshed + bathroom break (I needed to go since we just left home ha-ha) and went to the venue with the car.

Really, I was shocked. There was a queue from here to Tokio! Once we were inside, it really was an ice hall, and me being not too smart, forgot her cardigan and shawl in the car.. I walked to the front and called Dianna were she was standing, and I saw her hand but I realised there were so many people already so I decided to stay at the left. But my dad wanted something to eat, so we did. I bumped into Jana when we were heading back and I wished her happy birthday! Sadly she was already gone so I couldn't say goodbye to her. Unfortunately, when we got back we couldn't go back into the front area. Frustrated and all, Tim Bendzko started playing what made me cringe because he is just that typical German pop star who sings cheesy songs. Great. I would've enjoyed it more if I actually knew what he was singing about in detail. Next to that, people (couples mostly, found it appropriate to snog every time Tim sang a romantic/sad song) were moving in front of my so I couldn't see a thing anymore, which made me cringe even more than before. That's what I hate, because I start looking around and I stop focusing on what's happening at the stage. I decided with dad we should get something to drink, and I absolutely dropped every care I had about seeing Hurts at the most front-ish I could get. To be honest, while Tim was playing, there was a moment when I wanted to go home and fuck everything, I wanted to die.

When we got back I stood at the right side, next to a barrier and the show started. This is going to sound so cheesy, but when I saw them, I knew why I was there again. I started smiling like a moron and no, I was not on drugs. After Silver Lining and Wonderful Life I decided to sit onto the barrier, which was next to me, so I could see very clear! But really, I couldn't help but chuckle at the fact they were beaming the shaving-leg lady at the background while playing Blood, Tear and Gold. I also found the reason back why Evelyn was my favorite song again; Theo's madness, the tension there is, and the sphere there is when they're playing it. It's like he's in his own fantasy world where this Queen Evelyn lives, who decided to abandon all of her children to find another home. Unspoken was so amazing, Adam's piano work is très done, c'est magnifique! It was wonderful. And they played Affair, thank god! Words cannot describe, so I filmed to whole thing and you can check it out when I've uploaded all of my videos on my youtube page (and my dads) Their 'last' song was Stay, which was amazing. I wouldn't have chosen it myself to end a show with, but of course, there was an encore. No Verona and The Water though, but we did get Better Than Love twice, second time as the encore... and I think I started dancing around like a fool. At that moment I couldn't care less, and just like the album's name, I felt happiness. Also there were two full-grown men around 25-years old on the tribune next to me yelling all the lyrics, it made me snort because I wouldn't have expected that. They were really cool! At the same time they were watching a soccer game because one of the started screaming 2-0 to the other side of the tribune where apparently friends were standing, because they started jumping up and down! Haha.

To the people who are whining about the fact Theo is/might be losing his voice: Fuck you dearly. To be honest, his voice has actually improved since the last time I saw them. I remember with Wonderful Life, usually you heard his voice really soft at the end, and he didn't do the last sentence. It was only background. Now you can fully hear everything. Did I mention Theo makes weird movements? Because he does, he really does! And he massively abuses his microphone stand, I was surprised it was still normal after swinging it in the air multiple times almost hitting Adam with it. This isn't Sparta, this is Theo's Madness!

I also called Lady* and I think I kind of gave her an heartattack with Affair. Twice actually! At the end I met up with Dianna and she was with some friend, all really nice girls! I bought some buttons and after that we went outside, on our way to the back where the buses were. I was running what late but Paul was there for a minute (?) but we got sent away as I arrived there, so we had to stand next to the road waiting for them! I think I did see Theo once, since you can figure out who Theo is by the sight of him walking around (no offense, you're cute when you walk) We could see the dancers and apparently they were having a blast because they were dancing all the time, in the end Paul joined in. Around 12 I left. I was drenched, it was cold and I really had to go back because I promised my dad to be back at the car around 11 PM. Ha. In the end the didn't come out, so I missed nothing. And you know, I don't blame them because the weather was absolutely shit.

The next morning I woke up in the hotel, had a nice shower (though it was so small, I kept getting stuck into the curtains and I almost tripped once) Next to that, we got a wake up call by Justin Bieber. We had breakfast downstairs, which was very lovely by the way, we checked out and we went into the city center around 11. Aachen is a beautiful place, not because of the shops but I liked the churches they had and the atmosphere there is. Having our reflex camera with us, which still works on film, made me look like a hipster when I wanted to shoot some stills (probably posting some of them when I have them developed. I still have to develop 5 our films, oops) We bought some singles, and I got a really cool James Dean mints-box! Also, I think we spend half an hour in this train/cars/planes miniatures shop, for the die-hard collectors. I felt like a nerd. Around 2 we headed back to the car and went back on our way home.

Sorry for the long post but all with all, I think I can fairly say I had a blast. Hurts, thank you for the amazing concert. Dianna, thank you for the lovely time I had with you, you are adorable and amazing. Lady* (and your mums phone) thank you for putting up with me when I had to pee! Also, thank you dad for making the effort to go see one of my favorite bands with me, abroad.
